Why are bifold closet doors no longer popular?

The truth is, bifold closet doors have a lot of problems that you'll have to deal with if you install them. Here are just some of the reasons why bifold closet doors are no longer popular:

  • They fall out of their tracks all the time.

  • They stay open when they should be closed and closed when they should be open.

  • They can break easily and need to be repaired frequently.

Thereofore, it is easy to see why so many people no longer want to design closet spaces with these types of doors. Many believe that bifold closet doors are the worst choice to put into a building.

Why do bifold closet doors fall out of the track? Why do bifold closet doors break? Why do bifold closet doors stay open? Why do bifold closet doors break? It's because they are old, outdated, and underdeveloped. They were designed in the 1970s and 1980s and have not been updated since then. The hardware is also very outdated and not made out of high-quality materials. This makes them more prone to damage and breakage over time.

Bifold closet doors are no longer popular because they have been replaced by newer systems that are more modern, efficient, and cost-effective. These new systems offer better functionality while still being affordable enough for most people to afford them without breaking their budgets!

They are outdated, they break easily, they fall out of the track, they stay open when they should be closed and they just don't work! There is no reason to use them anymore and there is a better option for every situation. It's not that they don't work, it's just that they break easily, and then they fall out of the track, and then they stay open, and then they break. And then when you try to fix them, they fall out of the track again! It's a vicious cycle.

If you don't believe us, take a look at these statistics:

-Bifold closet doors break more often than other types of closet doors (like sliding doors or accordion-style ones).

-Out of every 10 bifold closet doors installed in buildings, 9 will need repairs within 2 years (and 4 will need repairs within 1 year). The other 1 will probably fall out of its track before that time period is up.

-If we were to go through all of our records for installations from the past 30 years, we would find 15% fewer bifold closet doors in buildings than there were before installation began—meaning that many homeowners have had problems with their bifold closet doors and ended up removing them altogether!

That is, until there was Magiglide. Read onto this BLOG diving into how our doors are different than any hollow core door on the market.
